A transparent side view cutout render of the UNSC Charon-class Light Frigate Aegis Fate (hull classification: FFG-307) of Halo 3, during the Battle of Installation 00, also known as the Ark. It is also prominently featured in the Halo 3 multiplayer map Sandtrap, in the northeastern unclouded sky patch. Interestingly, it was also mentioned in Halo: Reach.

Actually, I do believe I just changed the description to describe it as a transparent "cutout", meaning I cut it out from a screenshot on Halopedia. Thought it looked better against a transparent background.
So do I. I just think that white backgrounds are a wee bit too bright, if you know what I mean. Transparent bkgrds help to center focus directly on the object itself, that's my belief.
You do realize that "The Maw" level of Halo: Combat Evolved has absolutely nothing to do with the UNSC Frigate Aegis Fate of Halo 3, right? And yes, I agree, if you mean the Halcyon-class Cruiser Pillar of Autumn, as the "big crashed ship", yes, it is a very cool starship. Not as big as a Marathon-class Cruiser, but still cool.
